Members of Ross Golf Club combined one of their winter social evenings with an opportunity to support the chosen charities of Club Captain Neville Ovens, and recently appointed Club Lady Captain Jeanette Forrester.

Following the success of the Club's Queen's Jubilee celebrations earlier in the year, Jean Ovens once was again at the helm to organise a Victorian Street Fayre.

This was supported in style by members, particularly those who came dressed in some wonderful Victorian outfits. This included Queen Victoria herself, also known as Dorothy Green who officially opened the proceedings and was heralded in by a magnificent Town Crier otherwise known as Peter Landau.

Roger Cotton as Her Majesty's gillie, John Brown, also played his part and the street and shops which adorned the Club's restaurant were soon busy with customers making their purchases in support of the charities which were St Michael's Hospice, the R.N.L.I and the Martha Trust.
