A total of 12 medals were won by boys from the Forest of Dean Gymnastics Club at the Gloucestershire Boys’ Gymnastics Championships on Sunday. They were held at the Gymnastics Centre at Five Acres.

Four boys became County Champions when they won their age groups. Several boys were competing in their first ever competition. They all acquitted themselves well.

The Four gold medallists were Tom Sovidge who competed in the age 6 - 7 Novice 1 class, Henry Lafford in the Novice 2 age 8, Matthew Campbell Novice 2 age 9 - 10 and Finley Smith in the Junior 6 piece Apparatus competition.

Three County Clubs competed; Rowan from Cheltenham, The Gym Centre Gloucester and the Forest of Dean.

Forest silver medals were won by Joshua Powell & Robson Trigg in the age 6 - 7 Novice 1, Luke Tomley in the age 9+ and by Elliott Baker in the Novice 2 age 8. Sam Perkins took silver in the Junior 6 piece.

Alex Whittington, Keeland Brace and Sam Carver all won bronze.

Other members of the team, many of whom got individual placings on one or more apparatus, were Reuben Miles, Oscar Searle, Nathan McAuliffe, Edgar Rudkin-McLaren, Matthew Powell, Noah Shutt, Charlie Stephens, Ethan Lake, James Hadfield, Alex Cook and Kieran Williams.

All the boys are coached by Vlad Schegolev, their Russian coach.
