The Wye Valley Trial was held in Pauntley for the first time on Sunday 23rd June. The event, organised by Simon Harris of the Ross and District Motor Sports Club, was a round of the MSA British and the BTRDA National Championships.
The rain held off for most of the day, but the new venue still proved a challenge with plenty of smooth, steep hills to test the 33 entries.
The overall winner, with an impressive 5 points, was Duncan Stephens from Stroud, in his Dutton Melos. First in Class 1 was Nick Pollitt in his VW Lupo GTi, with a score of 51 points. The Best Ross Driver was won by Ed Wells, with 54 points, who was driving a Dutton Melos.
The Ross and District Motor Sport Club will be returning to Putley for the BTRDA Grand Final in October. More details will be available at http://www.rossmotorsports.co.uk">www.rossmotorsports.co.uk closer to the event.
