Howle Hill's four game unbeaten run, extending back to early September, came to end on Saturday with a disappointing 3- 2 defeat to Puma Reserves.
Hill started the game very slowly and could have fallen behind early but for fine goalkeeping from George Miles. It took the Hill Men 15 minutes to find any form and they almost took the lead when a header from Haydn Walters was pushed away by the Puma keeper.
This inspired the boys and they took the lead when James O'Brian run 30 yards with the ball before curling a right foot shot into the far corner from 12 yards.
Just before half time it was level again as a corner was not dealt with properly and a shot from the edge of the box was flicked over the keeper by Andrew Bevan for an unlucky own goal.
They came out strong for the second half and took the lead again when a cross from Arron Phelps bent into the top corner of the net.
