A new path has been completed at the Sports Centre in Ross-on-Wye, running alongside the fence next to the second cricket pitch and Talbots.

A spokesperson for Ross Juniors FC, who use the Sports Centre and the surrounding grounds, said: “The area can become quite treacherous and difficult to walk across following bad weather or flooding. This new walkway ‘Loftus Road’ will give much better access to the Talbot pitches which are always the last to flood in wet weather.

“A massive thanks must go to the following companies Strongwork, Walford Timber and the Breedon Group.

“The work has been led once again by Craig Minty Allen who has been brilliant in heading up improvement work to our club.

“Also big thanks to Kevin Evans for giving his day up for the club yet again and to Ben Richardson for his support and donation to the club.”

Following further vandalism at the club, CCTV is soon to be installed by a local company.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
