Way back in 1995, the then committee of Ross & District Autosports Club decided it would be a good idea to create a Marshals Championship to encourage members to come out and help at all the events, this Championship has been a great success, and later, in 2011, it was decided to purchase a cup - The Whitlock Trophy, named after Arthur and Barbara Whitlock, club supporters since the 1950s.
The winner of this year’s trophy was competition secretary Simon Harris, second was Neil Forrest.
The second Marshals Championship was for those who marshal events at other clubs and was won by Keith Meakin, with Stuart Harrold in second.
The club organises several types of trials: Classic, Sporting and Car Trials. The winner of the Spring Fling Concorde Trophy was Mark Hope, the Tye Cup winner was Dave Oliver and the Kyrle Trophy winner was Ian Facey in his Class 5 MBW Z3.
The Pepper Pot was won by Adrian Marfell and the Pear Fear Sporting Trial was won by Richard Sharpe.
The Autotest championship, across 8 events, saw 29 competitors take part. Winner Class 1 was Richard McLachlan with Andrew Bridgewater in second. The winner of Class 4 was Graham Spencer, with Bob Barker in second, the overall winner was Ollie Jenkins.
The Grass Autotest consisted of 7 events and 17 competitors took part. Best novice was Alan Morgan, first in Class 1 was Will Rogers, and first in Class 3 was Ollie Jenkins, whilst the overall winner was Richard McLachlan.
The winner of the external championship, The Jack Williams Cup went to Ed Wells, in second place, awarded the EV Powell Cup was Simon Harris, whilst in third place, awarded the Weobley Trophy was Richard McLachlan.
The Club’s most improved rally driver was Robert Wilson, aged just 15.
Best new member went to Alan Morgan, with Tim Bell in second place and Andrew Bridgewater in third place. The Club’s Champion was awarded to Ollie Jenkins.
