Ross based co-driver Paul Morris takes on one of the great rallying adventures when he undertakes the Silver Fern Rally in New Zealand next week.
He teams up with regular historic driver Simon Tysoe, in one of a pair of Jondel Race Engines backed Escort RS1800s. The other car is driven by Tysoe’s brother, Laurence co-driven by Craig Dolman.
After a very successful year collecting silverware, after great success in both the British Historic series with Tysoe, but also the National Asphalt title with Damian Cole in the Fiesta WRC, he is looking forward to the event.
Paul is no stranger to international rallies having competed in the British round of the World Rally Championship on numerous occasions, but this is by far the biggest challenge. The week long adventure, which starts and finishes in Christchurch, contains 1006 kms of the best gravel roads in the world in 47 timed tests with a further 1763 kms in road sections.
The event gets underway on Monday, November 28th with a December 4th finish and has attracted a 50 car entry.
