Ross duo Roger Matthews and Paul Morris finished a commendable 18th overall in Saturday's Wyedean Rally. Roger and Paul, in their Ford Escort, finished 5:54 behind overall winners Connor McCloskey and co-driver Francis Regan in their Subaru Impreza.
The team of Dan Gray and Mike Jode, and Gary and Tifanny Bollands finished 35th and 38th respectively. Unfortunately, Paul Gunter and Mark Wheeler were forced to retire, in their Escort RS2000, after the second stage.
The Ross drivers also did well in their classes. With their time of 52:07, Roger Matthews and Paul Morris came third in the H4 class, 38 seconds behind class winners Theo Bengry and Les Forsbrook.Gary and Tiffany Bollands came eighth out of 13 competitors in the B13 class. Their time of 55:49 was 9:05 behind class winners Matt Edwards and Will Rogers.
Dan Gray and Mike Jode finished seventh out of 13 in the 1400s class, 3:53 behind class winners Julian Wilkes and Will Rutherford-Child. This was the fifth year running, Julian Wilkes and Will Rutherford-Child won the 1400cc category in their Vauxhall Nova VXR. Although not staging a repeat of their 2012 giant-killing performance which saw them finish third overall on the snow-affected event, the West Country crew still dominated the category to the point that, by the end of the day, they were almost a minute ahead.
