The girls' section of Ross Juniors was formed last year just in time to enter some pre Easter futsal tournaments. Until then the girls had been the poor relation of the club; despite the existence of 20 teams in the club there was no specific girls team. This did not deter many of the girls who would turn up to boys' training and from their enthusiasm the club became convinced it had to start a proper girls section.

To celebrate the girls' first year, Arsenal Ladies, the country's leading female football team, are sending four players from their First Team down for a visit to provide coaching sessions for the girls.

Ellen White, the England and Arsenal striker recently back from the Cyprus Cup in which England triumphed, has been pivotal in organising the event.

"It is so good to hear of the girls game growing so quickly and girls being able to play in their own leagues. We are all so excited to see the girls from Ross Juniors and provide them with a memorable day," she said.
