Ross ladies A recently played at home on a lovely sunny winter's day against Manor Park B. Although the courts were slippy to start off with due to overnight frost the sun quickly dried them out and play got underway.

Ross' first pair of Ellie Vicary and Sarah Drakes rapidly got into their stride. Ellie, with some very solid and punishing hitting from the back of the court, managed to set up Sarah at the net and in a closely fought match against the opposition's first pair managed to win in two straight sets.

Their second match was more straight forward and it did not take them long to demolish their opposition. Heather Peachey and Brenda Saunders, playing as Ross' second pair also faired well in their first match despite both players being very rusty through lack of playing in recent weeks. They took the first set easily, however faltered in the second, before finally winning in the tie break in the third set. Unfortunately their luck ran out in the second match and despite some good rallies Manor Park's first pair won in two sets. Overall this was a good win 3 -1 for the ladies in Division 2 of the Hereford and Worcester league.
