ROSS Ladies A played their last match of the summer league at home to Bewdley A, taking a win and earning promotion to Division One.

Ross’ first pair Heather Peachey and Jane Pepperell got off to a slow start against the opposition’s number one pair, losing the first set 2-6. They did however, pick things up but lost in the tie-break after an excellent second set.

Their second rubber, against the opposition’s number two pair, was won 6-1 7-5, with the fizz being back in Heather’s forehand shots, and Jane’s volleying at the net, proving too much for the opposition.

Rosie Farr and Val Davies, playing as second pair, soon got to grips with the opposition’s third pair.
