Local motorbike racer, Luke Jones, was at Brands Hatch at the weekend riding his Triumph 675 in the British Superbike Championship, Round 7.

Luke who competes in the Supersport Class had practice on the Friday to sort out a few problems.

Qualifying on Saturday morning put Luke on Row Three for his first race over 12 laps. Luke had a good start and went on to finish third.

For the second race in the afternoon, Luke was on the second row of the grid. He made a good start and was lying in second place right up until lap eight of the 12 lap race, but he crashed out after clipping the back wheel of the bike in front of him.

Next came the 18 lap race on Sunday afternoon. Luke was on the second row of the grid and made a good start and was lying in first place for most of the race, but he was just pipped to the post on the last lap, and came in at second place.

Luke still holds on to his fourth place in the championship with 140 points.

The next meeting is at Cadwell Park on August 27th and 29th.
