Luke Jones was at Brands Hatch competing in the third round of the British Superbike Championship last weekend.
Luke, who competes in the British Supersport Class on his Triumph 675 had practice sessions on Friday, May 20th.
He finished fifth overall in the first practice on Friday and he was fourth overall in the second session.
Qualifying took place on Saturday morning and he was seventh fastest, which put Luke in the third row on the grid for the first race in the afternoon, which was over 18 laps.
Luke started well but rain stopped the race after seven laps. Unfortunately after the race restarted, over 12 laps, he had to retire due to a mechanical problem, even though he had taken the lead.
Race Two was run on the Sunday over 26 laps. He was on row seven at the start of the race.
After the first lap Luke moved up to 12th place, he moved up to fourth position on lap 16 and by lap 20 he was in third place. He stayed in third place as he crossed the finishing line and took his place on the podium.
Luke also had the fastest lap of the race with a time of 46.842 and a speed of 92.83 miles per hour.
Luke is fourth in the championship with 47 points.
The next round is taking place at Knockhill Scotland on June 24th - 26th.
Lukes’s next race will be at Donington Park on May 28th - 29th.
Luke was selected by a Dutch team to ride at Donington in the World Superbike Round. He will be competing in the World Superstock race on a 1000cc Kawasaki.
