With All Blues' pitch still flooded the game was moved to a sunny Newent last Saturday with both teams locked together in fourth place in the league and looking to put pressure on the top two promotion places.
After a hard fought battle earlier in the season in which Ross prevailed, both teams were wary of each other's strengths in the opening quarter. Blues looked to bring their big forward runners into play but some strong tackling by Casey Morgan and Dan Field prevented All Blues getting on the front foot. At the end of the first quarter neither team had troubled the scorers. The second quarter saw Ross' expansive game come to fruition, and in the space of 15 minutes they ran in three tries and had opened up a 19-0 lead at the break. First it was outside half Gareth Holdsorth who opened the scoring, after Blues had knocked on in midfield, it was Holdsworth who reacted the quickest, collecting the loose ball and outpacing the cover defence to score. Craig Powell added two and Ross were 7-0 ahead, this gave Ross the confidence to continue to attack ball in hand. Poor handling by Blues saw the ball spilt in midfield and this time it was Dan Field who outpaced the defence to score once again, Craig Powell added the conversion and Ross were 14-0 ahead.
