IN what was looking set to be an awkward fixture away to Ashley Down Old Boys, Ross actually romped away to win 3-42.

Ashley Down fielded a large and experienced pack and for the first 20 minutes had the upper hand, playing down the slope and kicking to the corner when the opportunities arose where they looked to take advantage of the line outs and scrums.

The Ross pack held firm and in fact were able to orchestrate some attacks of their own, from one of which fly-half Huw Bellamy converted a penalty.

Ashley Down responded with a penalty of their own before Bellamy again calmly slotted the ball over to put Ross 6-3 up at half time. Full report in this week's paper.
