Angela Sonn, a keen sprinter from Ross-on-Wye, recently picked up a Bronze medal for her part in the relay at the European Masters Athletics Championships Indoor (EMACSI) in Madrid.
Between March 19th and 24th, 2018, Angela competed in Madrid, where she was supported by her husband-to-be, Michael Bryant.
Together with Angela Kelly, Julie Hicken and Kirstin King in the 4 x 200 relay W55, they came third with a time of 2:02.27, with Angela Sonn running the first leg of the race.
Angela works at Dawleys in Ross-on-Wye, who gave her a teddy bear mascot for good luck in her races. Angela and Michael would like to say a big thank you to Dawleys and Joe Malsom, a local personal trainer.
Michael said: “Dawleys has been really supportive, and Joe’s really pushed Angela and improved her times.”
Last August, Angela competed in the European Championships in Denmark, and later this year she will be taking on the World Masters Track and Field Championships in Malaga, Spain. In the meantime she will be concentrating on more local competitions and events, in order to prepare herself for September.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
