ROSS Rowing Club proved masters of the Wye as they filled their boats with medals and pots downstream and upstream at the Monmouth and Hereford regattas.

First up at the 750m Monmouth Sprint Regatta on Bank Holiday Sunday, the Masters over-65 four beat Bristol Ariel by 2 1/2L to claim the final victory.

They added the women's over-50 double sculls with a commanding win over Avon County.

And in the very next race, the women's over-42 four came home 2L clear of Worcester to add another trophy.

Attention then switched the following weekend to Hereford, where they took out the open pairs by 2L from Bridgnorth and the Masters over-65 fours by the same margin from Bewdley.

The open double sculls also went to Ross with an easily verdict over Worcester in the morning session.

And there was no let up after lunch, George Smith beating his Hereford opponent to the open singles title by 3L and the women's over-42 quadruple scull beating Worcester by 2L.

Meanwhile, the club has just finished its first Learn To Row course of 2026, with another one set to start on June 13.
