There was a great atmosphere at the Ollie Floyd Memorial Game when a Ross-on-Wye XV took on a Forest XV at Smile Fest on Sunday.

Every member of each team was connected with Ollie Floyd as they had all played with him in the past. The Forest team mainly consisted of players from Drybrook, as Ollie played for that team when he was a child, before he joined the Ross squad as an adult.

The Forest XV were much stronger than the home team, and the away side dominated much of the game, and Ross struggled to keep hold of possession. The score ended 29 - 5 to the Forest XV. The match was an exciting game, played first in hot sunshine, then in torrential rain. However, the rain failed to dampen the enthusiasm of players and supporters and the game was played in great spirit in tribute to a former team-mate.

Both teams at the Smile Fest rugby match joined together to clap for one minute in a tribute to their former team-mate, Ollie Floyd, before the match began.
