A good performance but disappointing result was the outcome of Ross 2nds league fixture away to Dursley 3rds which finished 27-10 to the home side.
An under par first half from Ross enabled Dursley to score the majority of their points. It was the second half where Ross woke up and got their first try through centre TC Leach, who ran a cracking line off fly-half Tom Harris’ pass. Scrum half Sam Griffiths thought he’d scored Ross’ next try when he forced his way through to place the ball against the foot of the post, but the ref said he was unsighted.
It wasn’t long after however, that Ross did score, when a period of sustained pressure saw the ball being sped out wide and Matty Robertson’s silky hands put 2nd Row Joe Muldowney in at the corner.
Centre Bas Parker had another faultless display and Tom Harris put in some crunching tackles but the man of the match award went to flanker Steve White in his first 80 minutes of play in 12 months, after being out with a knee injury.
