The first game of the season for this age group took place on Sunday, October 4th when Ross-on-Wye welcomed Bromyard and put on a fine team performance to get the season off to a winning start. As the autumnal mists cleared above the Greytree ground, the two teams lined up and Bromyard kicked to Ross.

The match was very keenly competed with some great running rugby being seen on both sides. There were some big hits and many fine tackles went in from both sides throughout the game.

The early lead changed hands a couple of times but, as the first half drew to a close, Ross began to assert themselves. Bromyard showed determination in the face of great organisation and team work but, despite the visitors’ best efforts, Ross was able to pull away from Bromyard. The match ended with Ross being the runaway victors with a score line of 48 points to 26.
