The John Kyrle under 13 girls’ rugby team have enjoyed continued success on the playing fields this term with matches against some tough opposition.

In a three way friendly tournament with Hereford Academy and Dean Magna School, the Ross-on-Wye girls emerged undefeated.

Playing ten minute games, the John Kyrle U13s started with a convincing 45-0 win over Academy ‘B’, followed by a 25-5 win over a lively Dean Magna ‘B’ team.

In the next game, Academy ‘A’ forced John Kyrle to defend well. A clean sheet was kept though as John Kyrle recorded another victory by 20 points to nil.

In the final game, with the John Kyrle girls tiring and carrying a few injuries, they met their toughest opposition of the day; a well-disciplined Dean Magna ‘A’ side tackled relentlessly and by half time the score stood at 10-10.

Into the second half, John Kyrle dug deep and used some excellent passing to score two unanswered tries to give the John Kyrle girls the victory, 20-10, which saw them finish in first place in the tournament.
