Ross-on-Wye RFC U12s recorded a 29-22 victory against local rivals Cinderford last Sunday, wearing their fantastic new kit kindly sponsored by local firm Cobrey Farms.

Playing to an unfamiliar set of laws, and on a full sized pitch, Ross could not have started more badly, succumbing to relentless Cinderford pressure and conceding three tries in the first 20 minutes.

However Ross pulled themselves together and began to settle, showing confident leadership from captain Max Cronshaw. This pressure began to pay off with tries from both Ross centres Max Cronshaw and Harry Davies and one from scrum half Aiden Street.

Ross went into the final stages of the game on a high with exciting back play from Fly half Ethan Chick and direct running from prop Sarah Evans creating space on the blindside for another try from the nippy Aiden and one from lively hooker Ollie Cronshaw.

Not to be outdone Cinderford then scored a great try against the run of play, despite ferocious tackling from Ross, however Ross clung on for a well-deserved victory against a very competent Cinderford side.
