While Ross 1st IV were tackling Old Elizabethans at the Greytree ground, on the adjacent pitch, Ross 2nds were also in league action. This was against a Quedgely side, which had narrowly beaten Ross just before the Christmas break.

Ross however, did gain revenge with a convincing 44-14 victory.

The Ross 2nds were in control of the game from the off. They moved the ball crisply from the rucks, which gave centres, Bas Parker and PJ Muldowney, lots of ball to use.

Bas and PJ?used their chances productively as, within ten minutes, they were 12 - 0 ahead after great tries from wingers, Kurt and Joe. Olly Ryder also managed to convert one of the scores.

Quedgely did hit back halfway through the half and, after some strong ball carrying from their big forward pack, they crashed over to score.

However in the main, the Ross defence, through some strong tackling and great organisation, dealt brilliantly with wave after wave of attack. When they did get the ball, they were far more clinical, and the tries continued to come.

Kurt, and Joe added their second tries, and centres, Bas Parker and PJ Muldowney, also got into the act.

Quedgely did add another score, but it was Ross who ran out the comfortable winners.

They were satisfied that they had got their revenge for that pre-Christmas defeat with a 44-14 victory.

The Gastec man of the match was awarded to PJ Muldowney for his incisive running with ball in hand.
