Ross-on-Wye RFC bounced back from their opening day defeat in the league to put Cotham Park to the sword with a 39-3 win.

The hosts ran in seven tries in the comfortable victory and never looked like losing to the Bristolians.

Craig Smith made the score 7-0 with under five minutes on the clock. Strong running from Casey Morgan and Ali Rees put Ross over the advantage line before quick hands put Craig in space to stroll over.

The Ross pack gave the packs good quality possession throughout, with dominance at both the scrum and line-out.

The platform allowed Aleem to bounce off two tacklers to bundle his way over the line.

Cotham Park managed to kick a penalty in the second quarter of the game but that was the end of their scoring.

Ross scored a try either side of half time with Josh Morgan and Gavin Oates putting the game out of reach, securing the bonus point.

The hosts kept the ball in hand in a bid to tire out the Cotham Park side, it worked as Craig Smith, Gavin Oates and Aleem added further tries.

It was an outstanding team performance from Ross with every man doing their job. The Audreys Fishbar Man of the Match was captain, Casey Morgan, who led from the front after last week’s poor display.

Next Saturday Ross travel to play Minchinhampton, a 3.00pm kick off.
