Ross saw a dominant performance playing in the Gloucester Division 1 recently, running in seven unanswered tries in a 47-0 victory over Dursley.

Ross dominated territory throughout the first half and their oppressive defence forced the errors. With ball in hand, they were far more aggressive in the contact area, with the whole Ross pack offering themselves time and time again as willing runners.

The Dursley defence worked hard, but were unable to stop wave after wave of Ross attacks. Ross were on the scoreboard after 10 minutes, with winger Josh Morgan finishing off some good handling down the blindside.

Thai Hayward converted and Ross were 7-0 ahead, with Dursley struggling to establish any possession in the Ross half. It was only a matter of time before Ross added another score with centre, Ben Element, ghosting through the Dursley defence after a well timed pass from Thai Hayward.

Thai added the two and Ross were 14-0 ahead after 15 minutes. It wasn’t until a few minutes before the break that Ross added a third, again after some strong hard running from the Ross pack.

Captain, Casey Morgan, crashed over to score and Thai once again added the two and Ross went into the break 21-0 ahead.

The second half mirrored the first. Dursley could not get any territory and were forced to play the rest of the game in their own half. Josh Element scored the first try, getting on the end of some great handling scoring wide out on the left.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
