ROSS continued their dominant start to the league campaign with another convincing win, running in eight unanswered tries against Broad Plain, who were joint top of the table with their hosts, at the start of the day.
The scoreline may indicate this was one way traffic. However, the visitors threw everything they had at Ross, bringing their big runners and driving lineout into play at every opportunity. The Ross defence was magnificent, chopping down the ball carriers time after time. Eventually Broad Plain ran out of ideas as they could not breach the Ross defence.
When Ross had the ball they were able to break the gain line and, once they did, they had too many options for their opponents to snuff them out. Tries came at regular intervals, starting after five minutes with a well executed set piece move off the scrum. Flyhalf, Aaron Ryder, delayed his pass before putting Thai into the gap and he ran unchallenged to score under the posts.
Broad Plain looked to their driving lineout as a weapon, initially they did make ground but Ross quickly reacted, and were able, through Gavin Oates or Josh Walker, to nullify this threat quickly.
