ROSS RFC were brought back down to earth with a bump after their recent cup success as they lost 18-0 to Broad Plain in the opening league fixture in Gloucester Division Two.

The away trip to Bristol started with the news that they had lost centre Tom Davies, in addition to this Gareth Holdsworth came off after the first quarter with an ankle injury.

In the first half it was Ross who had the upperhand and didn’t deserve to trail 3-0 atthe break after a long range penalty from Broad Plain.

As the second half started, Broad Plain’s backs began to stretch their legs and break the denfensive line, running in two tries to give the Bristol outfit a convincing win.
