ROSS RFC U15s beat Kingswood 7-5 at home for their first league win of 2026, with Tyron Parker scoring the hosts’ try, converted by Euan Winstanley.
Both teams were a little rusty after the Christmas break, but a strong set-piece was a real highlight for Ross, with solid scrums and line-outs providing a great platform.
The team also put in a big defensive shift, tackling well against a Kingswood side with some powerful runners.
A couple of upcoming friendlies will help the squad build momentum ahead of the next league match away to Cirencester on February 1.
Man of the Match was Tyron, who showed a “great work rate and solid defence and was lively in attack“.
There was also a special mention for Archie Evans for a great game, with some great tackling and solid in the set piece.
The club also fielded an U16s team for the first time in a while at the weekend, beating Longlevens 22-14 at home in a four-try display.
A friendly welcome awaits any U15s, U16s and U17s looking to try their hand at rugby.
Training is on Thursdays from 5.30pm to 7pm and Sundays from 10am to 11am.
