Ross-on-Wye Rugby Club is busy warming up for the start of the season. Pre-season friendlies have already started at their pitches in Greytree and volunteers are busy preparing for their annual Fun Day and registration event on September 4th, from 10am - 4pm. The day is the start of the season for the Mini and Junior section and offers a chance to come and try the one of the variations of the game available at Ross.

The Club offers Rugby Pups, for four to six-year-olds, a brilliant way to get youngsters running about in the fresh air, whilst having lots of fun with balls and team based games. For those a little bit older, from six to nine-years, the game is tag, a fun fast-paced non-contact version. At age nine some of the traditional 15 a side elements of the game are introduced, and built upon year by year until the full 15 a side game is played by the Under 14s.

The Club also offers Touch Rugby, with both a Mens and Ladies side, providing an alternative solution to the gym for your fitness needs and a (gently) competitive environment. The Mens section also fields a 1st XV and a 2nds XV for those looking for the full game. For more details visit the website, www.rossrugby.co.uk

On Sunday, September 4th, following a morning of training sessions there will be a variety of games, stalls and bouncy castles. Ross is lucky to have members of the Army visiting them on the day, who will be bringing with them some extra challenges for 10-16 year olds, climbing walls and assaults courses. The Touch section is hosting a pitch up and play at 1pm so bring your boots or trainers and have a go. No experience necessary.

Refreshments will of course be available on the day and  the BBQ will be in full swing. There is plenty of parking.
