Ross U12 travelled to Gloucester this week for their 2nd game of 2019, this time against Longlevens.

Following on from the previous week’s epic encounter against Chepstow, the Ross boys looked surprised by the speed and accuracy of the home team who passed quickly and picked out key members of their team to open the game with three well timed tries without any real counter moves.

As in previous weeks, this early strong start from the opposition seemed to spur Ross on, they replied with some strong defence which quickly paid dividends and a couple of quick breaks led to counter tries being scored.

From then on it was ebb and flow, however the flows saw Longlevens take their chances when they became available more often than Ross-on-Wye.

These scoring chances, taken effectively, led to a defeat for the visiting Ross team but allowed them some understanding of the key areas to work on over the next few weeks.

Training continues next Sunday at Greytree, starting at 10am.
