Members of Drybrook Rugby Club joined with players from Ross Rugby Club to stage a memorial match in honour of Oliver Floyd, a young man who had played for both teams before losing his life in a tragic accident.

The match took place on Sunday, August 25th and as it was a friendly event designed to showcase their team spirit and affection for Ollie’s family and friends, rather than the skilful play both teams usually demonstrate, no score was kept. The game started after the minute’s applause shared by both teams and many spectators who enjoyed watching the rugby before rejoining the rest of the activities at OllieFest.See the full story and more pictures from OllieFest in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
