MONROSS Trailblazers women’s team stormed to overall victory by 41 points from Builth A in the Herefordshire Borders Winter x-country league after Sunday’s final race in Presteigne.
The men finished fifth overall, with Croft Ambrey leading the way, followed by Hereford Couriers, two Buillth teams, MonRoss, and Wye Valley Runners.
On the combined aggregate, the team came fifth.
Back on home soil on Saturday morning, Forest of Dean AC over-45 runner Dan Sandford set a PB finishing fastest in the weekly Ross-on-Wye parkrun, covering the 5km course in 20 mins 20 secs.
Club mate Julian Boon was just 15 seconds back in another PB, while canicross runner Tony Davies also managed a benchmark in 21.36 in third overall, pipping Andrew Wright by a second.
Salford Metropolitan AC’s Chloe Elliott was fastest woman and fifth overall in an impressive 21.45.
Abi Beddard also showed speed as second fastest woman in a PB 22.28, with Anna-Marie Dale third quickest in 26.05.
Eighty runners, joggers and walkers joined the parkrun, including seven over-70s.
The free weekly event is open to everybody and usually takes place at Ross Sports Ground on Saturdays at 9am.
New runners simply have to register with parkrun beforehand.
