Recently-elected Ross Club Captain Sally Fycun was delighted to receive the support of 100 members who took part in the customary Florida Scramble Team medal event which follows the customary Drive-In to kickstart her year.

Richard Griffiths found himself the first winner of the day as his investment in a raffle ticket number matched the length of Sally’s Drive from the 1st Tee. As a result Sally’s dedicated Charity during her term in office will also benefit by £437, this being the Ross based Hope Support Services which provides vital help for young people when a loved one is diagnosed with a serious illness.

The perfect Spring sunshine matched the fully acceptable playing conditions for good scoring and 6 teams produced net 59 medal scores which meant the outcome had to be decided upon count-back. Ultimately it was the birdie 3 captured on the Ross tree-lined courses 18th hole that determined the top prizes went to Graeme Forrester, Tim Harrison and Joan and Don Punnett. While Graeme had only just been deservedly elected Ross Club President a few days previously, finishing in the top-spot has become something of a habit for Tim Harrison fresh after winning a Club WInter Stableford in February and the Seniors Xmas Competiton in December.

The runners-up prizes went to Robin Eckley, Susan Johnson, Danny Gear, and Simon Mills who will feel that they earned them having produced a flawless score-card which featured 8 birdies and 10 pars.
