Philipa Tyler, aged 15, who has been a member of the South Hereford and Ross Harriers (SH&RH) for just over a year, has won the 50cm area nine show jumping championships, which was held at Rectory Farm on September 1st, on her mare “Touch of Destiny”, known at home as “Samba”.
John Kyrle High School pupil, Philipa and Samba started working together in September 2018 and it was a rocky road to start with as Samba was often opinionated and Philipa was still learning about having a pony of her own.
As well as winning individual first in the 50cm, they also came team sixth in a mixed team with another SH&RH member, John Howard.See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
