Twenty years of practice played off for the four Ross-on-Wye Skittle teams on their recent tour to Weymouth.
Motley Crew B won the trophy and were delighted at their success after 20 years trying. However, all the skittlers really enjoyed the tour.
For their first match, Motley Crew B played another Ross team, Charlie’s Angels, and after a very close match, they won. Then to their delight they went on to win the following two matches, giving them six points and a place in the finals. This was a great improvement on last year when they did not even manage one point.
They were soon nicknamed the ‘silver haired assassins’, as they looked the most unlikely to win, but after their first leg of 78 they just kept getting better, and with a score of 403 pins over a five leg match they won the whole competition.
