A small contingent of Ross Junior rowers travelled down to Cardiff on Saturday to take part in the British Indoor Rowing Championships which was held at Sophia Gardens, which is the home of Welsh Athletics.

This event is the pinnacle of the indoor rowing circuit and so attracts the best indoor rowers from the UK and Europe.

The squad was suitably inspired with many personal bests being achieved in what, for many, was their first experience of this 'high octane' world. The atmosphere generated was terrific as enthusiastic supporters were only metres away from the committed competitors.

The Ross Junior Academy squad achieved many notable results however, the icing on the cake was Heidi who hung on to win a fantastic Silver medal in her J12 event.

Ross Rowing Club would like to extend a big thank you to their coaches on the day (Graham, Ian, Mike), and to the parents for helping out with organising a minibus and an excellent lunch on the way home. Next up for the squad is the Club's very own Christmas 'Pudding' Head on Sunday December 22nd.
