With the sun beating down on the fine Goodrich pitch, the 1st XI entertained Kington CC. With the toss being won by the home side, a bat was a prefered choice in the conditions.

McLarty and Jackson took to the crease with intention of putting the game out of sight. Early on McLarty (6) was dismissed and in came the Skipper, Andy Brown, who was very much on form.

Jackson and Brown decided early on that running wasn't wise in the heat so 4s and 6s became the order of the game. After a fantastic stand between the pair, Brown was dismissed on 99 going for an orthodox slap through the onside, which was bowled.
