Ross Allsorts Netball team are looking strong contenders to be in the Top 5 Playoffs in the Wye Valley Netball League. This is a new format to the league this year. The top five teams will play each other twice more. The lower teams will also play each other twice. This should ensure all teams play against others of a similar standard and hopefully will increase enjoyment and competitiveness.

Allsorts played Abergavenny and the match started fairly equal with both teams scoring on their centre passes, but by the end of the first quarter Allsorts just nudged ahead 6-4.

Once the second quarter got underway Allsorts defenders were solid and determined in their marking and gave the Aber shooters very little chance to score.

Allsorts Centre Court players took control of their part of the court with Wing Defence Gaynor Raine making it very difficult to get the ball past her. Gaynor leapt to intercept passes and was able to constantly turn the play back up the court.

Wing Attack Karen Walsh excelled with powerful passes across the D where the on-form shooters slotted the ball through the net.

Allsorts won 27-7. Wing Attack Karen Walsh was named by the umpires as the player of the match.
