Goodrich ‘A’ttitudes were playing at home on Sunday, July 28th against Old Hill in Division 3 of the H & W Summer League.

With two of the usual ‘A’ttitudes team players starting their holidays early, it was up to super subs Wendy Jenkins and Jill Brown from the successful ‘B’ashers team to help out and in two very tight three set matches they narrowly lost the first one, but after a lot of hard work and determination won the second.

In addition, a last minute injury to Cath Hutchinson resulted in the Club Chairman, Bonnie Palmer stepping in to partner Kim Martin, and they won their first rubber but lost the second to a strong first Old Hill pairing.

With Cheryl Mordecai and Steph Howell resuming their winter partnership, they secured both rubbers, thus resulting in a great 4 rubbers to 2 win. This moves the ‘A’ttitudes to within three points of table topping Ross, with one match remaining against Halesowen on Sunday, 11th August. After the match the players enjoyed a sumptuous tea outside in the sunshine.
