SHGC ladies section continues its summer season with both individual successes and enjoyable group activities. At the recent Herefordshire County Championships, held at Sapey GC, Lesley Colquhoun was second in the nett competition, whilst Val Bland came second in the bronze division.

A day of rare good weather made the sections annual away day, this year at the Bristol GC an even more enjoyable outing. A challenging round of golf was followed by an excellent meal and presentation of prizes.

The June Stableford was won by Sue Palmer with 37 points, 2nd Lynn Relph and 3rd Pauline Newton.

In dry but windy conditions Simon Sharpe scored 37 points to win the Men's June Stableford. The top three players will all see their handicaps reduced by one shot ahead of the club championships next weekend.

Results: Division 1 – 1st S Sharpe 37, 2nd T Phelps 36, 3rd T Green 36. Division 2 – 1st A Matheson 35, 2nd M O Neil 33, 3rd N Vanstone 33.

The A team drew their latest NGFL match against Ross-on-Wye GC three games each. Unfortunately the B Team were less successful in the reciprocal match at Ross, losing five games to one. The junior team won their first match of the season, just edging out Monmouth GC by one game. Wins for Niall Powell, Rory Gunning, Alex Moore and a half for Ross Barnett gave a final result of 3.5 to 2.5.
