Think motor racing and you’ll be thinking of the whine of engines, the squeal of tyres and saloon bodies trading paint at high speeds. What you won’t think is that these things happen locally in Mitcheldean, at a purpose built, indoor, racing circuit, just on a much smaller scale.

The Forest Raceway in Vantage Point is home to the Forest of Dean Radio Controlled Car club (FoDRCCC). Racing every Tuesday evening (6:30pm until 10pm) with a pay and play session on Sundays (11am until 3pm). Catering for most electric circuit based radio controlled models from 1/12th scale Minis to the super fast 1/10th Touring cars. The club has just finished its first, 8 round summer championship. Held fortnightly, 26 drivers, split across 5 classes, competed wheel to wheel to determine who would win the series in their respective classes.

With a tight set of rules in place for all to ensure a fair event, it was a close run championship for all involved. Congratulations to all.
