THE new session for the first of twelve rounds was at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend. Local rider, Luke Jones, competing in the 600 Super Sport 'Cup' races, got off to a good start with a win. The Cup race is run together with the 600 Super Sport. Luke finished seventh in the overall race. It was an excellent result as this class has some of the best riders in the UK and from abroad.

The weather was the big factor for this meeting as rain persisted all weekend and some classes were cancelled. In the 11th, third row for the Sunday race, 16 laps, he made his way through the field and by lap ten went into the lead. But bad luck for Luke when a bike blew its engine and left oil on the track and Luke, who had built up a good lead by lap 12, crashed after running onto the oil. The race was then red flagged due to the oil on the track. Just bad luck for Luke as he might have gone onto win the race.

The second race on Easter Monday saw Luke on the third row due to his lap timed from the first race. The conditions were bad and after seven laps the race was stopped. Luke was in seventh place in this race but ended up winning the 'cup' side of the race.

Well done to Luke. The Jones team would like to thank KGD of Hereford and all Luke's other sponsors for their help.

The next meeting is at Thruxton on April 13th, 14th and 15th.
