After two and a half months of watching the England squad flailing around down under, the Goodrich CC Indoor squad took to the Leominster Indoor Arena to show them how things should be done, notching up two wins from their first two encounters.

The villagers took to the pitch against last year's league and cup double winners, Dales Cricket Club. Losing the toss, Goodrich were asked to field.

Despite early pressure, both Dales' openers retired leaving Adam Seymour's medium pace to tie up the Leominster side's middle order. The pressure allowed Andrew Evans, making his Herefordshire Indoor League return after two years in the wilderness, to pick up two wickets with his teasing off spin. A deserved wicket for Seymour and a run out let the Dales opener, Patel, back to the crease. Some hard hitting from him closed the Leominster side's innings on 135-4.
