Tense final at Memorial Trophy at Ross-on-Wye Tennis Centre

The Richard Grindon Memorial Trophy was held on September 17th at Ross Tennis Centre by kind permission of Chris Friend.

The draw was made by Richard’s grandson, Zac Reilly.

A Round Robin format formed the first round for five pairs in each group. The results of the first round were close. There was some fine play by all concerned, and it was a close competition.

The eventual winners and runners up of each group were: Mike O’Brien and Sarah Drake, Jane Pepperell and Jamie Farr, Rosie Farr and Martin Davies and Val Davies and Ian Hobson.

After two very close semi finals and some very exciting play; the finalists were Mike and Sarah, Jane and Jamie.

All the spectators enjoyed some tense play in the final. The eventual winners were Mike and Sarah.

The trophies were presented by Richard’s daughter, Rebecca.
