Ross Sports Centre played host to Fownhope and Ross Under 16 teams on Sunday.
The game, billed as a local derby, certainly lived up to expectations and with Fownhope winning the match 1-0 it means they are now two thirds of the way to an unprecedented treble at u16 level. Something that was not dreamed of when the side started in Ross in 2005.
The Fownhope U16 side started life in Ross as an under 9 side, they then moved to Weston under Penyard until finally moving to their current home at Fownhope two years ago. The team has not forgotten its roots and still has a number of players that started out seven years ago in Ross. (Match report p23)
