ROSS Golf Club's second Winter stableford competition, provided the opportunity for 12 of the 93 players taking part to qualify for the 2015 annual Barnfield Trophy event.

It also enabled recently installed Seniors Captain Richard Topping to kick-start his year in office in the best possible style.

His 42 points score meant that his name appropriately 'topped' the final leader board. His round, which included seven pars and one birdie was a model in consistent play, and his success means that he will now be a 14 handicapper in future.
