A BUMPER turn-out of 17 MonRoss Trailbazers strode out in the final Herefordshire Summer X-Country League race at Ledbury Harriers.

Luke Gray was fastest club runner in the 167-strong field, placing fourth overall and fastest over-35 in 28.35.

Rob Nicholls, who set a PB of 17.33 a week last Saturday heading the Ross-on-Wye 5k ParkRun, was 10th overall, running 29mins 48secs to take third in the over-35 class.

Toby Dickens was close behind in 13th in 30.26, 12 seconds and one place ahead of Gavin Jones.

Mark Killeen was 17th in 31.43, with Grant White 29th in 33.39, Richard Bevan 32nd in 33.52, and Andrew Stephens 43rd and fourth fastest over-45 man in 35.06, 16 seconds up on club mate Rob Potter in 46th.

Other Trailblazers to run the race were Martin Scrivens in 36.49, Jonathan Meadows in 39.19, Vanessa Ward who was fifth fastest over-35 woman in 40.18, Lucia Demkova who scooped third in over-40s women in 41.44, Rebecca Roseanne in 42.26, Mark Scrivens in 43.13, Sophie Williams in 43.44, and James Fletcher in 44.56.

The team, with the three fastest men and women to score, placed seventh out of 16 overall in the race.

In the four-race league series, Gavin Jones was highest placed on points in eighth, while Richard Bevan was third best over-45 man.
