LOCAL motorbike racer, Luke Jones, was competing at Cadwell Park over the August Bank Holiday weekend, riding in round 8 of the MCE British Superbike Championship. Luke was riding his Triumph 675 in the Supersport Championship Class. He had a mixed weekend due to the bad weather on the Monday. Saturday was free practise followed by qualifying on Sunday morning, which put Luke on the third row of the grid for the first sprint race over 12 laps in the afternoon. Luke had a good start and moved up through the field and was fourth by lap 10, but he was passed on the last lap and finished in fifth. Full report in this week's Gazette.
