Ross Motor Club organised a navigational exercise on February 11th to help novice drivers and navigators understand what skills are required to compete in road rallies.

This was a non-competitive event which allowed the entrants to learn the skills in a stress free environment. The event was over a three hour period allowing adequate time for plotting and to drive the 28 mile course.

The navigation involved plotting fixes, spot heights, and ‘tulip’ diagrams. The seven entrants appeared to enjoy themselves. Five completed the course resulting in a successful evening finishing at the club house for a drink and a debrief, locally known as a noggin and natter.

The next Ross event will be on Saturday, February 20th at Ross Cattle Market where an auto-test is taking place at 12.30pm to around 4pm. Hopefully there will be five tests.

All are welcome and if you do not wish to compete just pop along to watch the grassroots motor sports event which can be competed for in a regular road car.
