A large contingent of juniors were joined by two of Ross-on-Wye Rowing Club’s senior crews at Monmouth Regatta over the Bank Holiday weekend.
There were some stand-out performances and seven wins overall for the club.
It was great to see older juniors, George Aubrey and Ben Clatworthy, take home a medal competing in the men’s open double event. The younger 13-year-old juniors also saw success with Katie Hermon and Emma Smith winning in their double and Annabel Pope in a single scull.
Not wanting to be outdone by his brother, Tom Clatworthy continued his achievements with a win in the J14 double with his crew mate, Charlie Pope.
Meanwhile, the men’s double of Matt Griffiths and Sam Boon were treated to a dip in the river by the juniors and ladies, having won their event, and in so doing losing their novice status.
